This practical and interactive session is tailored for procurement professionals in the public sector who have difficulties in contracting the most appropriate suppliers or are looking to expand their supplier engagement capabilities. This session will give you the opportunity to examine different supplier approaches, models and strategies that could be implemented in your procurement division in order to achieve value for money in your government department.

Early supplier engagement is becoming more important in government departments in order to achieve better outcomes while reducing costs. A multi-stage early supplier engagement can help suppliers better analysing the project scope, gives more detailed insights into the necessary procurement requirements and provides a better understanding of where involvement of other partners is necessary. Engaging with suppliers in an open and transparent way will promote competition and maximises innovative solutions.

Achieving more effective procurement results by building and implementing commercial capabilities in the public sector

This value packed session is designed for procurement professionals within the public sector who want to deepen their insights into the different commercial approaches available that can be implemented to make public sector procurement operations more cost and time efficient. This engaging full day learning session will give an overview of all the different commercial models such as contracting out, purchaser-providers split, corporation and alternative models.

There is an international trend towards contestability and marketisation in the delivery of public services. During this session you will have the opportunity to examine the problems with, and possibilities of reorienting public sector service provision from a traditional administrative approach to delivering services om a commercial or quasi-commercial basis.
