Jamie Turmanis
Director & Founder

Jamie has extensive experience in the product development, sales, marketing and operational elements of an events business.

Prior to founding Quest Events, Jamie worked for IIR, informa, Terrapinn and AC Events in Sydney. He has also worked in Hong Kong with Beacon Events. During his 15+ years in the events industry, Jamie has led the development and growth of some of Australia’s and Asia’s leading commercial events. He has launched and grown hundreds of successful conferences, exhibitions and training seminars in the Australian and Asian markets from 2003 to the present day.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Technology, Sydney. He enjoys a variety of sports including cricket, football, squash, surfing and golf - and has run in two marathons.

Aleks Zids
Managing Director

As one of the first members of the Quest Events’ team, Aleks has had experience across all of Quest’s business areas, including production, marketing, sales and operations.

Since 2012, Aleks has been instrumental in launching and growing some of the company's most successful events. He has helped ensure that Quest brand is recognised for superior quality, with events that deliver real value for all involved.

Outside of work Aleks loves to learn about new trends, technology and history along with being outdoors, whether that be surfing, running, cycling or playing football.

'I focus on ensuring that every Quest event has the highest quality speakers addressing the most pertinent and current topics. I like creating interactive events with lots of opportunities for questions, discussions and of course networking, to ensure that everybody gets the most out of each opportunity.'


Marcel Baillache
Chief Marketing Officer

Marcel has over 20 years’ experience,  working for global conference companies in Africa, Asia and Australia – developing marketing strategies for smaller training events to large scale conferences/exhibitions, with 2,000+ attendees.

He has a keen interest in developing marketing talent and growing delegate attendance year on year, by constantly innovating and testing new digital channels. His extensive conference marketing experience includes content marketing, social media, email marketing and lead generation.

Marcel has successfully launched events into new markets including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, China, New Zealand, Kenya, and Botswana to name a few.

Helen Bateman
Database Manager

Helen leads the Database Research team based in Australia, the Philippines and India. She is responsible for ensuring that the team are identifying and building the right marketing lists for Quest Events’ broad range of events, making sure each list is accurate and complete. Helen is also a part of the Quest Events CRM development team.

Helen has a BA in Leisure Management from the University of Technology Sydney. In her spare time she enjoys water sports including swimming and SCUBA diving. Helen also loves to travel to destinations that are off the tourist trail and experience new cultures and food.

Tashi Gazzard
Head of Sales

Tashi heads up Quest’s sales function, with responsibility for both delegate and sponsorship sales, while still managing some of the businesses key accounts. Tashi is passionate about building an excellent team culture, and nurturing emerging sales professionals.

He also ensures the team are always focused on meeting and exceeding our sponsors and attendees expectations.

Tashi has over 10 years in sales experience spanning events, property, finance and technology.

Outside of work he loves the Sydney Roosters and Arsenal, the outdoors, a swim at the local beach and a cold schooner at the local.

Chris Sanchez
Division Director

Chris oversees Quest’s conferences from conception to completion, guiding each event through the production, marketing, sales, and event management process.

Chris spent 6 years as a lawyer at a large law firm in California and has over a decade of experience in conference management. His experience has given him an acute understanding of the challenges facing industry and government leaders and how to deliver events that provide practical solutions for those challenges.

Outside of work Chris enjoys travelling, fine dining (or even mediocre dining – any dining, really), live music and baseball.

Suzy Thomas
Event Operations Manager

Suzy runs Quest’s event and operations team, making sure that speakers, attendees, sponsors and more, have the best pre, during and post event experience possible.

Suzy has over 15 years’ experience working in the event industry, and has developed a love for organising and delivering exceptional results. Suzy hands-on experience in organising all types of events, from weddings, family functions, conferences, exhibitions and networking events on different scales.

Outside of work, Suzy is busy with three children and takes every opportunity to pursue her passion for skiing, in Australia and overseas.

Milad Etemadi
Partnerships Director

Milad has over 15 years of experience in managing and growing business events in the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

He has helped solution providers ranging from small and medium enterprises to fortune 500 companies to build their brand, educate the market, and gain access to industry leaders at our high-level niche events.

Milad ensures that our events provide an excellent platform for sponsors to elevate their brand, engage with their target audience, and achieve their business goals.

Morgan Youell
Finance and Administration Manager

Morgan has over 25 years experience in Finance and Administrations roles across a broad number of industries.

He ensures the smooth running of all the Finance requirements, whilst fitting in time to keep all things IT running smoothly.

A Northern Beaches local, working at Quest in the Manly office is a perfect fit of culture and alleviating his gephyrophobia.

Outside of work he loves all sports and truly believes that at some stage he'll be able to represent Australia at something, while family and kids keep every day interesting.
