Jamie Turmanis
Managing Director

Jamie Turmanis is the Managing Director and Founder of Quest Events. He leads the company through a hands-on and pragmatic management style.

Jamie has extensive experience in the product development, sales, marketing and operational elements of an events business.

Prior to founding Quest Events, Jamie worked for IIR, informa, Terrapinn and AC Events in Sydney. He has also worked in Hong Kong with Beacon Events. During his 14+ years in the events industry, Jamie has led the development and growth of some of Australia’s and Asia’s leading commercial events. He has launched and grown hundreds of successful conferences, exhibitions and training seminars in the Australian and Asian markets from 2003 to the present day.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Technology, Sydney. He enjoys playing a variety of sports including cricket, football, squash, surfing and golf - and has run in two marathons.

Aleks Zids
General Manager

As one of the first members of the Quest Events’ team, Aleks has had experience across all of Quest’s business areas, including production, marketing, sales and operations.

Since 2012, Aleks has been instrumental in launching and growing some of the company's most successful events. He has helped ensure that Quest brand is recognised for superior quality, with events that deliver real value for all involved.

Outside of work Aleks loves to learn about new trends, technology and history along with being outdoors, whether that be surfing, running, cycling or playing football.

“I focus on ensuring that every Quest event has the highest quality speakers addressing the most pertinent and current topics. I like creating interactive events with lots of opportunities for questions, discussions and of course networking, to ensure that everybody gets the most out of each opportunity.”

John Pozoglou
Head of Strategy - Quest Ignite

John leads the Emerging Technology & Innovation events portfolio within Quest Events – Quest Ignite.

John’s interests are in branding and experiential activations at the intersection between business, technology and culture.

His expertise in content curation, design, customer experience and sales have seen him create industry leading events across Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pac regions – including Mobile Content World, Telecoms World, The Internet Show, Cards & Payments Middle East and most recently Connect EXPO in Australia.

John likes cycling, alternative music, beat generation writers, travelling, history and hanging out with his family. He is also a keen Liverpool and Manly Sea-Eagles supporter.

Marcel Baillache
Marketing Director

Marcel has over 20 years’ experience,  working for global conference companies in Africa, Asia and Australia – developing marketing strategies for smaller training events to large scale conferences/exhibitions, with 2,000+ attendees.

He has a keen interest in developing marketing talent and growing delegate attendance year on year, by constantly innovating and testing new digital channels. His extensive conference marketing experience includes content marketing, social media, email marketing and lead generation.

Marcel has successfully launched events into new markets including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, China, New Zealand, Kenya, and Botswana to name a few.

John Burden
Sales Director

As a member of the Quest Events’ team since its inception in 2012, John's primary focus has been to ensure our high level, high quality events have been well attended and supported from both a delegate and sponsorship perspective. He has grown the sales team significantly & the experience and satisfaction of our clients is his #1 focus.

John has a Bachelor of Business/Sports Marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney. In his spare time, he plays a variety of sports including tennis, golf or playing for the ‘Brookie Battlers’ football team.

Lea Hauchard
Event Operations Manager

Originally from France, Lea holds a Bachelor of Tourism and a Bachelor of Arts.

She gained experience in Events Management as an Event Coordinator, contracting mainly for not-for-profit organisations and governmental institutions. She has worked on organising both national and international conferences and exhibitions.

In Australia since November 2010, Lea started off working in the hospitality industry before returning to the corporate conference industry, where her passion lies.

“I aim to deliver seamless, top quality events! I ensure that all speaker, delegate and sponsor requirements are looked after and that everyone gets the most out of their investment, in order to create an event experience that maximises their opportunities to meet, learn and grow.”

Helen Bateman
Database Manager

Helen leads the Database Research team based in Australia, the Philippines and India. She is responsible for ensuring that the team are identifying and building the right marketing lists for Quest Events’ broad range of events, making sure each list is accurate and complete. Helen is also a part of the Quest Events CRM development team.

Helen has a BA in Leisure Management from the University of Technology Sydney. In her spare time she enjoys water sports including swimming and SCUBA diving. Helen also loves to travel to destinations that are off the tourist trail and experience new cultures and food.
