Learning Session A

Understanding Major Accident Hazards (MAH) through bowtie analysis


This practical in-depth learning session will focus on the new approaches that Contact Energy have taken to build on their existing process safety improvement activities through learning and knowledge of different and exciting approaches. Those in attendance will be safety professionals and operational teams from various hazardous industries interested in maximizing their process safety management potential. Through interactive discussions and group working sessions, attendees will learn how to visualize and assess their companies’ MAH through effective bowtie diagrams. Attendees will be able to walk away with the skill to show links between the potential causes/threats, preventative and mitigated controls/barriers and consequences of a major accident.
