Women in Tech Awards

Application guidelines

You can enter only one category based on the requirements from the category descriptions below; make sure you read them thoroughly to ensure you choose the most appropriate category to enter.

  • All judges, organisers and staff involved with the Women in Tech Awards sign a confidentiality agreement. Considering this, applicants are strongly recommended to share as many details as possible in their application documents
  • All information that you provide will not be promoted or made available to anyone other than the judges, organisers or event’s staff at any stage
  • Applicants must be registered to the two-day main conference to be able to enter the awards
  • Finalists must attend the Award interview via skype one week before the event, between the 5th and 7th June 2017. If you do not attend the interview you will be disqualified. Do not submit an application if you are unable to attend the interview
  • Winners must participate as a speaker in the Award Winners session that will take place in the morning of Conference Day Two, on 15 June 2017. This will be a 15 minute presentation for you to celebrate your success and share your insights on what you believe made you win. You will not be expected to divulge any confidential information, data, facts or figures. Please do not submit an application if you are unable to attend.

Dates

9th February: Women in Tech Awards entry now open

13th April: Awards entry closing at 11.59pm.

29th May 2017: Finalists will be announced via email. The organisers will send you a private email to inform you have been selected. If you do not receive a communication from the organisers you have not been selected. An email marketing will be sent out to an extensive database announcing the finalists.

5th to 7th June 2017: Online interview via Skype with judges will take place during business hours. These interviews will ultimately determine the winners of each category. Organisers will communicate with you and inform the exact time and place of your interview with judges via email. Finalists must most provide contact details to organisers within 1 week before the scheduled interview. If you do not provide contact details or do not attend the interview you will be disqualified.

8th June 2017: Judges deliberation and winner selection.

14th June 2017: The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony during networking drinks following the opening conference day on 14 June.

15th June 2017: Finalists’ speaker presentation – winners will have a 15 minutes slot presentation in the morning of 15 June to share their insights on how they have achieved the result. We recommend winners to use 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A.

Awards Categories

Female Tech Director of the Year

This award is designed to recognise the business impact, team management and scope of your work as a leader in a senior management position. Leaders in this category are expected to be in a senior management position (President, Vice-President, Chief Executive, General Manager, Director or Head) for more than 2 years by the time of your application. Finalists will be expected to demonstrate how their vision, strategic leadership and influence have impacted their work as a senior leader at a company-wide level.

Female Young Tech Professional of the year

This award is designed to recognise young tech leaders who have made outstanding contributions to their teams that have positively impacted their organisations. Leaders in this category are expected to be in management position (Manager and Leader) for less than 2 years by the time of application. Points will be awarded based on your contribution to the company’s overall results, potential to overcome challenges and barriers, and demonstration of excellent leadership.
