In-depth learning session A: An introduction to the principles of both Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Managing Supplier Relationships (MSR) (and they are different!)

This practical in-depth learning session will focus on the principles underpinning SRM and MSR to help you achieve excellence in supplier relationships and achieving better mutual outcomes. Those in attendance will be procurement, supply chain managers and relationship managers who are looking for specialized knowledge on how to improve contract management performance using SRM and MSR. Through interactive discussions and group working sessions, attendees will also learn how to identify, manage and prevent the most critical issues that cause relationship failures between procurement contract managers and their suppliers.

Key topics and takeaway skills/benefits:

  • Understand how long-term trusting relationships help increase performance within key contracts
  • Review key methodologies to prevent non-compliance and non-performance of contracts due to trust breakdowns
  • Identify and learn how to develop a proactive supplier relationship approach
  • Assess the most common misconceptions of the different skills needed in contract management, performance management, commercial management and SRM
