Martin has a 29 year career across diverse banking institutions both nationally and internationally. This includes senior executive roles in retail, commercial, corporate and specialist banking areas. He most recently held the position of State Manager (Queensland and Western Australia) at St George Bank. He has also acted as Regional Manager of Clydesdale Bank in London and Manchester.

Martin commenced his current role with Auswide Bank Ltd (formerly Wide Bay Australia Ltd) in February 2013 and is responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and business strategy. Auswide Bank was Australia’s 10th listed bank.

Martin and his leadership team immediately embarked on an aggressive 3 year strategic plan to reform and re-energise the company. This includes building the dedicated 3rd party broker and business banking channels, improving products, increased capability in technology and achieving ‘bank status’- a goal which was realised in April 2015. Auswide Bank recently gained a 20% equity stake in Peer 2 Peer lending and announced a proposed merger with YCU.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Murdoch University and an MBA from The University of Western Australia. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Management and the Chief Executive Offi cer Institute. On a personal note, Martin enjoys spending time with his family who relocated to Bundaberg. He is also a keen bike rider for fi tness and pleasure.

After working for several years in the events management industry he decided to return to his long-term interest in the financial industry. In 2013 David and his team entered the Australian Credit market and built a highly efficient full service online loan origination platform to allow underserviced Australian customers fast and frictionless access to personal finance.

David and his team have been at the forefront of the Australian Financial Technology industry, introducing a previously unseen level of technology integrated directly into the online loan decisioning process whilst always focusing on the most enhanced user experience for the customer.

As CEO of Kikka he leads this pursuit for automation in the lending process and is responsible for executing the corporate strategy of the company

In July 2015 David was announced as the AICM Western Australia, Young Credit Professional of the Year.

Ismail Chaib is Chief Operating Officer at TESOBE / the Open Bank Project, a financial technology startup which provides open APIs to financial institutions such as the Royal Bank of Scotland and BNP Paribas. Prior to that, he cofounded the Algerian award-winning tech startup SMSBridge and transformed it into the leading SMS platform in the country.

Ismail launched the German chapter of MakeSense, a global network supporting social entrepreneurs and helped shape it into a worldwide community of more than 20.000 SenseMakers in 100 different cities. He is also an ambassador of the UN Foundation programme +SocialGood and advices the Algerian Center for Social Entrepreneurship.

Ismail graduated from the University of Nice, France with a Master Degree in IT Project Management and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Informatique (ESI), Algeria with an Engineering degree in Computer Science. He currently lives in Berlin.

Kevin Davis is a Professor of Finance at the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining Melbourne in 1987, he was a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Adelaide.

His primary research interests are in the areas of financial institutions and markets, financial engineering and corporate finance. He is co-author/editor of sixteen books in the areas of finance, banking, monetary economics and macroeconomics and numerous journal articles and chapters in books.

Kevin is on the Board (and previously Chairperson) of the Melbourne University Credit Union, and the Board of SIRCA. He has developed and presented numerous training programs for banks and businesses. He has undertaken an extensive range of consulting assignments for financial institutions, business and government, including preparing a report for the Federal Government on Financial System Guarantees.

Most recently, the Federal Government appointed Kevin as a part-time member of the Australian Competition Tribunal. He is a Senior Fellow of Finsia and a Fellow of the FTA and of the AMI Institute, and a member of the Economics Society Australia, Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand, American Economic Association, American Finance Association, Financial Management Association, Asian Finance Association.

The PRDE is the industry self-regulatory instrument that provides rules around reciprocity and data exchange in the credit reporting system. Matt now leads a team rolling out the PRDE, and the Australian Credit Reporting Data Standard (ACRDS).

Deborah Ralston is a Professor of Finance at Monash University and Cluster Leader Monash-CSIRO Superannuation Research Cluster. Previous appointments include Executive Director of the Australian Centre for Financial Studies, Pro Vice Chancellor of the Division of Business Law and Information Science at the University of Canberra, and Director of the Centre for Australian Financial Institutions at the University of Southern Queensland. Deborah’s academic background is in economics and financial management and she has taught in the areas of economics, corporate finance, credit risk management, financial statement analysis and financial institutions management.

Her research interests include the impact of financial regulation, the strategy and management of financial institutions and regional economic development. She has published widely in these areas and is a co-author of the text Financial Institutions Management.

Deborah is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and the CPA Australia. Deborah is the Chair of ASIC's Digital Finance Advisory Committee. Deborah was formerly a Director of Heritage Building Society 1992-2003 and is currently a Director of the listed mortgage broking company Mortgage Choice.

Deborah was the Executive Director of ACFS from 2009 to 2015.
