Learning Session A:
How to embed innovation in financial institutions - a leadership masterclass

This practical and interactive session is open to all professional leaders in financial services, regardless of their function.  By changing management thinking, this session will teach attendees how to study service organisations as systems and - using the knowledge gained - redesign them. The day is a masterclass designed for participants to undertake significant work when they get back to their companies, where the real learning occurs.

By attending this session you will learn:

  • Conventional designs in service organisations and their associated management beliefs
  • Principles to follow when studying service organisations as systems
  • How studying reveals the flaws in both design and beliefs
  • Archetypes for effective service design, with case examples illustrating how outstanding results follow better design
  • Critical relationships - Thinking > System > Performance and Purpose > Measures > Method

And you will leave with skills necessary to:

  • Employ systems principles to design digital services that work, and rethink and redesign their processes
  • Adapt to rapidly changing market conditions and create more valuable and high-quality solutions faster
  • Implement an overall cultural change in your organisation

Using bank APIs to speed onboarding and improve customer experience

The use of APIs by today’s banks is becoming increasingly common as they help to drive speed and cost-effectiveness while preserving traditional legacy systems.

Designed for digital professionals in financial services, this session will explore new ways to leverage APIs to accelerate innovation in today’s connected world.  With focus on the use of APIs in the banking and fintech industries this session will delve into business cases and technical best practices that are allowing lenders to speed their digital developments.

By attending this session you will learn:

  • Why financial services are moving to an API based architecture
  • The value proposition of APIs: how they can accelerate digital development – scale innovation and achieve quicker time to market solutions for customer onboarding
