 The Australian Pipelines and Gas Association Ltd (APGA) is the peak body representing Australasia’s transmission pipeline infrastructure, with a focus on gas transmission, but also including transportation of other products, such as oil, water, slurry and CO2. Members include constructors, owners, operators, advisers, engineering companies and suppliers of pipeline products and services.

One of APGA’s many important roles has been its industry research programs, including leading the development of the industry-accepted technical standard, AS2885. Another is its contribution to the development of gas market policies and ensuring the industry’s voice is heard in the gas supply debate.


National Energy Resources Australia (NERA) has been established to maximise the value to the Australian economy by having an energy resources industry that is globally competitive, sustainable, innovative and diverse.

Through a national focus, NERA's role is to grow collaboration and innovation to assist the energy resources industry manage cost structures and productivity, direct research to industry needs, deliver the future work skills required and promote fit for purpose regulation.

NERA is one of six Growth Centres established by the Australian Government under the Industry Growth Centres Initiative. It is an incorporated not-for-profit company governed by a board of industry experts to help drive projects to benefit the whole energy ecosystem in Australia.

It is envisaged NERA will be self-funding by Year 5 of operation through the commercialisation of its services and industry funded projects.
